The house of LaCarNist — a foundational Black American poet. Fifty years of a life, set to light and sound.
LaCarNist is a foundational Black American poet whose very name carries his mission. His work draws from foundational Black American roots and lineage, the teachings of the Nation of Islam, Christian faith, and Nichiren Buddhist practice — alongside the rich traditions of Black American storytelling, music, and spoken word.
Spanning more than fifty years, his poetry is testimony, transformation, and the living proof that poison can always become medicine. It belongs to everyone.
